Questionnaire Section 1:

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Eric Tuckner. My wife, Abby, and I live in New Richmond, WI with our two daughters, Cheyenne (10) and Kaycie (4). I am running for re-election for the Board of Directors to do what I can to preserve the sport of bear hunting in our state for years to come. I have hunted over baits and hunted with hounds for years and cannot imagine what life would be like without bear hunting. Bear hunting is a family sport, not only for the four of us and our three hounds, but for all of your families as well.

Questionnaire Section 2:

With road closures severely limiting hunting access to large areas of timber company-owned land and county forest lands, we need BOD members who are willing and able to go to local government meetings and advocate for keeping land open for hunting. WBHA must continue devoting time to assure that bear hunting will continue to be recognized as a valuable activity here in Wisconsin.

Besides BOD meetings and the Annual meeting how much time can you commit per month? (Options: 2 hours, 4 hours, 10 hours, or More)

More

How far are you willing to drive? (Options: 20 miles, 50 miles, 100 or more miles)

100 or more miles

What days are the best days? (Options: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Questionnaire Section 3:

What are some of the things you feel you can personally do to further accomplish the goals of WBHA?

I will continue to raise awareness of our sport through town hall meetings, youth day events, and staying involved with our legislators. I believe it is extremely important to pass our heritage and way of life to our youth.

Questionnaire Section 4:

Knowing that the HSUS has an unlimited bankroll, and one that is far superior to what the WBHA has, what would you be willing to do to save your sport?

I feel the WBHA can raise more awareness about our sport and all of hunting, as well as, continue to recruit new members and renew old members. We also need to stay involved with lawmakers to save our sport. I have worked on numerous bills to preserve bear hunting. I have also attended meetings where people were trying to block roads and ban the use of hounds while hunting. I was quite involved in the campaigns for Assemblyman Rob Stafsholt, who is now on his second term. I am excited to help him in his Senate race in hopes of keeping one of our own in Madison. I invite others to join me in volunteering, donating, and supporting our friends in Madison, so they can stop the anti-hunters that we are fighting every day.
